Chi O Quick Facts!

Although all Chi Omegas are diverse and intellectual in nature, we all have one common bond: sisterhood. We regularly host sisterhood events that promote our inclusive culture and fun personalities! Events include movie nights, holiday cookie decorating, karaoke, ice cream socials, big/little family activities, and themed house dinners.

Ever since its founding, Chi Omega has prioritized academic excellence and intellectual pursuits as the ultimate goal of higher education. Our chapter offers many outlets for our members to thrive: tutoring, scholarship banquets, and a mentorship program are just a few examples of resources available to our members. Nu Beta has continually placed top in grades out of the entire UA Greek System. At the national Chi Omega Firesides Leadership Training in 2019, our chapter was awarded the highest GPA in the Gulf Coast Region.

Chi Omega's commitment to involvement results in our diverse membership. Many of our members are active in Student Government Association, Honors College, Alabama Panhellenic Association, Capstone Men and Women, Bama Crew, Young Life, Community Service Center, numerous honor societies, and varsity sports, just to name a few. At the Greek Excellence Awards Banquet in 2018, our chapter was given the award for Most Outstanding University and Community relations. Through outside involvement, Chi Omegas learn to broaden their perspective and work with a variety of people.

Being a Chi Omega isn't just for four years, it's for a lifetime. To prepare members for life beyond college, Nu Beta provides a multitude of resources. Recent events our chapter has hosted include: a social media speaker, a mock interview workshop, resume and headshot reviews, career fairs, and alumnae meet and greets. Juniors and seniors participate in meetings where they learn more about the Chi Omega experience as alumnae. Chi Omegas go on to serve our community, state, and nation, and their legacy is constantly felt.

We challenge our members to devote their time to a cause they care about. Every Chi Omega member participates in fundraising for Make-a-Wish, and every Nu Beta volunteers at the local Boys and Girls Club of West Alabama. Beyond those two causes, most of our members continue their heart of service with other organizations on campus like UADM, Beat Auburn, Beat Hunger, or a certain organizations' philanthropy.
